If I wasn't there
The Robin wouldn't care

The world goes round and round and round
Whether I am on it or not
But as long as it's got ornithological sound
This is where I'll stop

When a wagtail wags its tail
Or when a blackbird sings
It doesn't need to be observed
In order to exist
I'll stand here all day

Many years ago a lot of my songs were based on Things I Always Say In The Pub. This one is a sort of middle-aged version of that, in that it's a Thing I Always Say Or Think On A Walk, but then once I got about halfway through it suddenly turned on me and told me something I needed to hear!
