At work I often use my Computer Guy Voice as a calming BALM, especially when people are going FRANTIC with computer issues. A gentle "Can you show me what you did?" will often lead to people repeating whatever it is they were doing SLOWLY and thus NOT doing whatever went wrong previously.

It is a beautiful thing, but APPARENTLY it can get A Bit Annoying when one tries to use these skills outside of work e.g. at home. I can't see it myself.
