EDINBURGH FRINGE
Steve and I are heading off to Edinburgh a week today! We're there for over a fortnight this time and it would be DELIGHTFUL to see you if you're up there. We're also doing a couple of special Totally Acoustic podcasts on Wednesday evenings, and may well be appearing here and there in other shows.
I'll be blogging about my Fringe experiences for Whatsonstage.com while we're up there - you can read the first of my entries here: http://www.whatsonstage.com/blog/theatre/edinburgh/E8831311770359/Previews.html. I'm hoping to be reporting on a whole lot of beer, curry, comedy and lie-ins!
DINOSAUR PLANET
Even with all this going on the 'Dinosaur Planet' album marches onward. We've now got the whole thing Penultimastered, with the FINAL mastering session booked for September 10th. I'm now planning to get it released in time for Christmas (THIS Christmas!), mainly because I can't bear to wait any longer than absolutely necessary, as it's sounding AMAZING. There'll be a VIDEO trailer (which is FANTASTIC), a free download single, t-shirts, and probably BADGES to go with it, not to mention gigs, gala shows, and a return to GERMANY.
I know it's been a long long time in coming, but I promise it's going to be worth it!
IN OTHER NEWS
I've recorded a couple of interviews which should be going live in the next week or so - one for the Getting Better Acquainted podcast ( http://soundcloud.com/gettingbetteracquainted) in which I go on at Some Great Length about a variety of subjects, and one with the venerable Kooba Radio ( http://www.koobaradio.co.uk/) during which Steve manages to get about three words in about Moon Horse. Both should be up before we get to Edinburgh!
And finally, I'm very happy to say that I WILL be making a brief appearance at this year's Indietracks festival, singing a song with A Little Orchestra in the Church on Sunday night. Before that though we'll be having a Validators Reunion as we UNITE to watch Frankie play with his own band earlier on in the afternoon. If you're going, we'll see you there!
And that's about enough for this month - thanks for listening, and see you next time!
Cheers,
Mark
